Bienvenido USA ("Bienvenido," "we," "us" or "our") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit bienvenido.us and our related websites and sign-up pages, make a donation, or join our email or text messaging programs, and how we use and protect that information.

By using our websites or providing your information to us, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you sign up, register for an event, volunteer, donate or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, mailing address or ZIP code, and anything else you choose to share with us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our websites, we and our service providers may automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

To send you news, updates, event information and other communications about our work
To send text messages to people who have opted in to our text messaging program
To process donations and send receipts

To organize events, volunteer activities and programs

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information only in these limited ways:

Service providers. Companies that work on our behalf, such as website hosting, email and text message delivery, and donation processing, may receive the information they need to perform those services. They are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Bienvenido USA, our supporters or others.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. Text Messaging (SMS/MMS) Program

You can join our text messaging program by entering your mobile phone number and checking the opt-in box on one of our sign-up forms.

By entering your phone number and selecting to opt in, you consent to join a recurring SMS/MMS text messaging program that will provide alerts, donation requests, updates, and other important information. By participating, you agree to the terms & privacy policy for auto dialed messages to the phone number you provide. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed.

Consent is not required to donate or to receive other services from us.

Your mobile phone number and opt-in consent are used only to deliver our text messaging program. Full program terms are in our Terms & Conditions.

5. Donations

Online donations are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card or bank account number on our systems. The processor handles your payment information under its own privacy policy and security standards.

6. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar tools to keep our websites working and to understand how visitors use them. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are sent. Some parts of our websites may not work properly without them.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 10).

9. Children's Privacy

Our websites and programs are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any email from us.
Text messages. Reply STOP to any text message.
Access, correction and deletion. Email info@bienvenido.us to ask what information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it.

11. Links to Other Websites

Our websites may link to websites run by others. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
